Back from DC...
I had a great time in DC at the grand unveiling of the Ideal Org for the Founding Church. I met up with my friend Amber, her husband Gary, and her parents Pam & Ed.
One of the personal highlights of the occasion was that I was seated inside the roped-off area, on the red carpet. Out of the thousands of people there, I was one of the lucky. Awesome.
And the head of the Religious Technology Center, David Miscavige himself, came out for the event and gave a great speech, as did several special guests. The Church received a commendation from the mayor of DC as well as a framed flag that was flown over the capitol building from Senator Sherman of California.
I also got to meet people I've been speaking with on the phone for years, like JJ and David. Everyone was so nice, but what else would you expect.
Inside the historic embassy building, it was stunning. All seven floors and the basement. Set up to provide any and all information you would ever need. Amber took a few shots of me in the chapel.
My favorite photo she took of me is of me, of course, standing on the red carpet just outside the front of the Ideal Org. Something tells me this will be the new author photo on the re-release of Into the Mirror Black.
It was a grand time and I will be back to visit in the spring.
And maybe I will be able to go to Boston next year to visit my friend Amber and her family for the opening of their Ideal Org.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get them.
