Tuesday 31 August 2010: E-Publishing, eBay, & Everything Else...

Good evening, all you sexy people out there in the dark. Welcome back to my lair. I have some good news to share.

My cat Baylor who has been struggling with horrible gingivitis that caused him great pain had his surgery Monday morning to extract his teeth. He's seven years old and opinions concured that removing the teeth and allowing the gums to heal would reduce his pain ( and he wouldn't have his life threatened by long-term steroid treatment) and possibly cure his gingivitis or reduce it to the point a minor painkiller would work. He's home now and doing well. I puree canned cat food with some water to make it easier for him to eat. The vet says he will most likely be back to his old self in a few weeks.

And I can announce that my novels Into the Mirror Black and Angels of the Mourning Light will be available as downloads for your Kindles and other devices that have such apps in approximately 8 weeks. When Angels of the Seventh Dawn is reissued and Shadows Amongst the Moonlight is published, they will be available in the e-reader format as well. I'm excited because this will allow my books to be available in a cutting-edge format for all those who have access to it. Thanks to my buddy Brian Keene for giving me the idea.

Speaking of Brian, Charlene Haines and I had a great time Friday evening 27 September at Waldenbooks in the Country Club Mall in LaVale, MD, at our benefit for the Ark of Hope Animal Rescue. It's a no-kill animal shelter that helps find homes for pets. We don't have a total yet but it was very successfull. Many people turned out to buy our books so Borders could make a donation of part of the purchase price to the rescue. I know our benefit on my birthday 5 June where we raised over $2,000 worth of stuff will be hard to top, but every little bit helps those animals who desperately need help. Charlene told me today there has been a request from another shelter for our help, so I will release those details as soon as I have any.

Brian also invited us to a horror convention in New Jersey in October where we will potentially meet hundreds if not thousands of readers. Charlene and I are hoping we can go. We have to take our own books so that will run us a few hundred dollars for books, but it could very well be an awesome step for us to take in our careers and help get the word out about us to even more people.

Now for eBay. Who knew you could get such awesome stuff for such small prices? I've been able to get a frog bracelet to replace the one I lost in the fire 2 1/2 years ago as well as many books and cds that are either out of print or way too expensive to be able to replace the copies I lost. Amazing.

Let's see...I've been working in my spare time on Shadows Amongst the Moonlight. Almost there, but I still have some writing to do. The story is really great and if you loved Angels of the Seventh Dawn, then you will love this one as well.

I also have a new job. I now work at Studio 12 just up the street from where I previously worked. So anyone who is looking for me, you can find me there.

The five kittens Ilsa the rescued cat had are doing great. They are five weeks old now and their eyes are open and they are walking around. I have two white, two orange, and a dark gray/black who need good homes. As soon as they are a little older and I can tell gender, I'll let everyone know. They are so friendly and cuddly.

Staying true to my goal of donating Basics books and lectures to libraries (we've previously donated to LaVale Library and the library at Frostburg State University) we will be contacting Potomac State University in West Virginia and several more colleges and universities. Thank you to Tammy and Joyce for helping me with this endeavor and to Barb for providing more books and cd lectures for me to donate to help get the word about the Basics out there.

I think that's about it for now. Stay sexy and be sure to find me on Facebook and join my fan page there.

Nighty-nightmares,
F~
