Religious Discrimination at Allegany College of Maryland Part II...

A week after contacting the President Allegany College's office, and being asked to forward Mr. Baldwin's disrespectful email response to me, I decided to phone again to ask if it was received, since no one could possibly be bothered enough to either phone or email me to tell me it was. So, today I called and had to leave a message, which I politely did.

*

Tonight, I receive a very short response from the President's secretary:

*

Mr. Bittinger,

Your email has been received and has been forwarded to Mr. Baldwin’s supervisor.

Seems to me, since I asked to speak with the President of the College, at the very least the President could acknowledge me and give me a call. I certainly feel the administration truly does not care what kind of image this is portraying to me and the community. "Forwarded to Mr. Baldwin's supervisor." ? This after the secretary admitted to me on the phone when we spoke last week that they college admin knows Baldwin is pretty "eccentric" and they "tend to overlook some of his behavior." Really? "Forwarded to" his supervisor?

This follows on the tail of finding out a student, who had an appointment with Mr. Baldwin's supervisor to discuss this matter today. waited for 45 minutes and Connie Clifton never bothered to return to the office.

*

Quite honestly, I feel this is discrimination towards me; I also feel the administrations thinks I will just go gently into that good night if I am ignored long enough. Not being handled quite as efficiently nor as professionally as I would have hoped.

*

I know there are several concerned citizens who have voiced their concern over this matter in emails to the President's office. If anyone else feels the same, please feel free to email the President's office or the Dean of Allegany College. Or you may also email Maryland Higher Education Commission and Commission on Higher Education. And definitely feel free to contact our local office of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) right in Baltimore--that's very close. They may very well take issue with this discrimination. http://www.aclu-md.org/

All I asked for was an apology for the disrespectful email response I received from Mr. Baldwin. I, and many of you also, feel I am owed this. Now, I feel that since this is quite obviously religious discrimination on behalf of Mr. Baldwin in his official Allegany College capacity as Director of Learning Resources, a written apology will no longer suffice to soothe over this illegal situation.
